Welcome

Our ministry purpose:
“Reaching out in Jesus name to connect people with God equipping and releasing them to serve.”

Our core purpose of ministry as a church is to:
“REACH–CONNECT–SERVE.”

Faith in Action is often something we talk about but unfortunately fail to live out. As most of you are aware, we will be seeking to truly put our faith in action on Sunday, May 17th when we will gather for breakfast, a brief time of corporate worship, and then disperse to continue our worship of God through loving service to His people as we go and be the church.

Putting our “Faith in Action” is that which calls us to be aware of many things. One, it calls us to be willing to take detours when they present themselves. While we all like to take our usual familiar route in life there are those times when a detour pops up and takes us in an unexpected different direction. How willing are we to trust God and go off the usual beaten path and be open to new opportunities to serve both Him and His people? Detours for most of us are usually not the preferred route, but when taken can truly become the road to blessing.

“Faith in Action” calls us to seriously consider the lens through which we look at people, situations, and opportunities to serve. Too often we tend to look through the lens of cynicism and judgment, and when we do we become far less willing to reach out – instead we tend to draw back. We are called to take our example from Jesus who always looked through the lens of compassion, and because He did, He always extended grace and mercy. We need to ask ourselves what lens are we using to look at others as well as opportunities to serve?

“Faith in Action” calls us to understand that while at times we might feel as though anything we might do would be insignificant - that is never the case. Just like a stone thrown into a pond that makes ripples that spread out further and further – so we too can have the same effect. What we might deem as small and insignificant just might be that which needed to happen to bring about blessing in another’s life. God is not near as concerned about our ability as He is our availability. How available are we?

“Faith in Action” is not some catchy phrase or logo or designated day – it is a way of life. ”Faith in Action“ is living our Christian lives in such a way that we are walking what we are talking. I am excited about the possibilities of our ”Faith in Action“ day, but I am even more excited about the possibilities of this becoming who we are as a people of God – a people who are seeking to love God and love people through living faith in action.
