"BE A BLESSING"
As we come out of the Easter season, I can not help but reflect on how blessed we are. Jesus in His extravagant love and grace went to the Cross and died so that our sins would be forgiven as we accept Him as our Savior and as our Lord. But it does not stop there - God in raising Him from the dead gives to us the very real promise of life eternal with Him through Jesus. How much more could we possibly be blessed?
As I think about all of this, it excites me beyond words, but it also causes me to question what difference all this makes in our lives. I truly believe that we are blessed, but I also believe that God blesses us to in turn be a blessing.
As Easter people, I would challenge you to join me in seriously looking at the difference Jesus makes in your life. I would challenge you to join me in seriously considering the time you give to worshipping God publicly and privately and to your devotional life as you seek to grow closer to God. I would challenge you to join me in seriously considering the time you are willing to give to serving God and His people. I would challenge you to join me in considering your commitment to being a person of prayer for our church, community, nation, and the world. I would challenge you to join me in looking seriously at your financial support of the church and consider where you are with your tithe as well as your second mile giving to Missions and to special projects.
God in Christ has truly blessed us but not just for the purpose of sitting on and reveling in that blessing but to be in turn a blessing to others and to God. The Easter event of Christ's death and resurrection should make all the difference in the world to us and should energize us to go and to share the Good News. My friends, we are so blessed! Let us therefore go and take that blessing and be a blessing in the name of Jesus!!
