ASH WEDNESDAY (Quiet Communion)
On Ash Wednesday, February 22, we will have quiet communion available in the church sanctuary from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The consecrated elements will be available along with some devotional material giving individuals an opportunity to quietly reflect and pray as well as take communion when ready.
THANKSGIVING BASKETS
The Missions Team would like to thank all who donated food items and delivered Thanksgiving Baskets to 21 families in our community in 2011. Each basket contained a complete Thanksgiving meal with all the fixin’s, including turkey and desert. These gifts were truly appreciated by those who received them and provided our church with the opportunity to minister to people in our immediate community.
2011 OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Thank you to all who filled shoeboxes or made donations to Operation Christmas Child this year. Etna UMC collected a total of 106 boxes. The people of Columbus and surrounding counties collected 33,362 shoebox gifts to send to kids in 100 countries in 2011. Our boxes joined others collected from around the world, to become a worldwide distribution to 8.5 million children who are suffering from natural disaster, war, terrorism, famine, and poverty.
