Women's Ministry
Would you like to be a blessing?
Join the Dorcas Quilt Ministry! Can’t sew? Not a problem! Our 6-step assembly-line process allows you to pick and choose which steps you do and work at home at your own pace. What are the steps? 1. Wash and iron fabric; 2. Cut squares; 3. Layout squares; 4. Sew squares together; 5. Sew on the padding and backing; 6. Add the threads to be knotted. And in each step, pray-pray-pray! We get together about 5 times a year for a quick update on any business, instructions to new members, and laying out squares or maybe have a potluck. The “blessing” part? Read some of the thank you cards on the bookshelf in the main lobby. If you would like to donate to the quilt ministry, we accept any amount of usable cotton or cotton/poly fabric (not knits – they stretch!) this can even be sheets, etc. Tear a sleeve or get a stain in a shirt or dress? We can cut around it to get squares! We also love to receive spools of thread – poly, white preferred. Any questions? Contact Terry Crane or Lorraine Fothergill.
